Default Outdoorsman screwdriver

Hey guys. Just got my first OD (1936 vintage) and love it. However, the tiny screws on the top are loose. Screws look to be the same size as the sight adjustment screws. I don't want to harm it so could someone tell me if there is a special screwdriver for these? Looks like an eyeglass screwdriver size, but want your advice. Thanks,
Dewy

Since you have a very nice gun, I would go ahead right now and just buy a real set of gunsmith screw drivers, these are different than your run of the mill screw drivers. I picked up a set on eBay with about 25 different attachments for under $20. They work well and I have yet to bugger up a screw head. Gun screws and hardware screws are cut different, thus the proper tool.

I use a set of jeweler's screwdrivers that I like. The small handles prevent over tightening the screws. If I need more leverage to unscrew one of those tiny screws, I soak it.

I've used the sight adjustment tool for years, and never buggered up a screw head. I recently purchased a dedicated gunsmith screwdriver. It has three interchangeable bits. Just remember to go slow and don't try and force anything.

I've got the Brownell's with the 3 bits, but the smallest one is way too big for those tiny screws. I like the jeweler's screwdriver idea. Many thanks.

Talking Screwdrivers

I second what Hondo44 said. I have had a set of Craftsman for over 30years and they are also great if you wear glasses with all those little screws that come loose.
