"pierced the car's trunk, back seat, front seat, driver and steering post - killing the driver and wrecking the car". They even advertised what it was actually for. Imagine that today. "Just the facts, sir". Last paragraph, "After the war, look for this hand full of dynamite". Early 40's?

"ultra-powerful" --- I see this sort of marketing lingo isn't restricted to the modern day. For its time, it sure was.

"After the war" --- looks like S&W was trying to keep some buzz around the .357 during WWII. Stocks indicate a prewar gun for sure.
