Default What year was the "Airweight" introduced?

I know that the Chief's Special came into being in 1950 and was curious when the Airweight was added. I'll extend my query to include pre -37s as well as the Model 12. (Is there such a thing as a "pre-model 12"?)

Best,
Charles

Hi Charles,

Yes, it seems the pre-model 12 and 37s were added in 1951, according to the SCSW 4th Ed.

Cheers,

Bob

And on that general topic. The Bodyguard was introduced in Airweight format, the steel version came much later.
