Default Mismatched 1950 .44 Special (Pinto)

A recent acquisition of mine that I received the factory letter on this week. Remains just as it shipped. I've always wanted to add a pinto to the collection and was happy when I was able to land this specimen on auction last month.

Goes nicely with this one

Nice acquisition Kris. I'm still on the fence about the pintos, mostly because I have never seen one in person. Awesome that it's in original as shipped configuration.

Whew. That's a heart stopper. And those stocks are out of this world. And just as it came from the factory? Beautiful, just beautiful.

That was a lot of money back then.

I love it. And, the closest I've come to a Pinto is a 3914 and 3914 with the frames, slides, and other misc. parts transferred. Pathetic, I know. I can live with that. Don't judge me.

Thats a good one. Curious what guys were doing with these guns built this way. Has it been shot much? Was it a BBQ gun? Wish a story came with this one.

Kris:

I'd probably keep that one if it ever made it over here to the AZ...

Beautiful!

That is a twin to a gun I have in my safe that was part of that same shipment to Rex Firearms in June of 1954. I believe there is one other member here who has one of those guns as well. It is one classy looking gun and needless to say, I love it! Here is mine with a darker colored set of grips.
