Very Nice.......
It is hard to not to take home every one I see. It is like an addiction. Lack of funding is the only thing that keeps me from having a real problem with it.

I am drooling, would love to have one just like it. However I'm not someone willing to shop on Gunbroker or out of my local area, I just have to actually lay my hands on an item like this before buying. The bad news is that in over 10 years of looking at local gun shows I've only seen one model 27 and that one had a 6 inch barrel and an asking price a lot higher than what I had with me.

Very nice Richard!
It is the only model that I own duplicates in. I see even more in my future. Maybe I too will get one gift wrapped in a special box someday. Sorry for the outliers, but I was cleaning them already and needed something to hold them up.
Keep looking scooter123, I have not bought anything off GB ...yet.
Tried fitting these possible pre war sambar stag on s 90705 today. Maybe she will grow into them.

"kinda nice" is an understatement. Love the Ropers. And with the fairly rare Blanchard front sight, it probably shipped in late 1952 or early 1953. What is the SN range on that one? My early nickel one is S99634 and shipped in November 1954 and is sporting some Keith Brown lumber in this photo:

Richard, my gun shipped July 1950, SN range 76000.
Its' my birth year gun so I'm somewhat partial that it's pretty special.
You're observant, not many folks recognize the Blanchard front sight.
I have orig stocks and box.
And I agree with all, the Pre 27s can quickly become addictive.

My two pre-27's that I've shown before. The nickel one is first
year of production (July 1950), all original except the grips. The
blue one is a factory special order 4 inch barrel that shipped
in April 1957 to H. H. Harris. I believe both to have been work-
ing guns due to holster wear on muzzle and other high points.
I have letters on both.

David:
I noticed, because I have a couple of those Blanchard sighted guns.
Per the letter that I have on the above guns, Roy indicated that the Blanchard sight was used only on guns shipped in 1952? It looks like with your gun that it may also have been used earlier? BTW, does your gun letter with the target trigger and hammer? I also thought that the Target Trigger (yours looks like it is a smooth one?) was introduced in the mid 1950's? You would probably appreciate the reference to the Blanchard sight...

Here are mine, including my Transitional (S71667) which shipped December, 1948. The blued gun at top left (S97460) shipped March,1953, and the nickel (S138640) shipped August, 1955. These are about to head back to the U.S. for sale together with the bulk of my collection.

This is another with the Blanchard FS.
It is at the Springfield Museums.
I asked for and was granted permission to share the picture.
Once I got past the Birdseye....The Blanchard was next.
My avatar has my only pre 27

Although not the first 3.5" 357 that I ever collected, this one is certainly the oldest... A couple of photos of the original Magnum that started the 3.5" 357 ball rolling - a 1935 pre-pre-27 (aka Registered Magnum) :
