Picked up this little gem recently
Pre mod 10
Sn C44807
5" Barrel
5 Screw
Sn on cylinder and grips
Would like to have app ship date please

Member JP@AK is the local expert on these, but I suspect this one dates to late 1948. It's a very nice example. Enjoy!

eddie, I agree with murphy, sometime in the latter part of 48. you will love the balance and feel of that 5" barrel. I've only got 3 now but am picking up #4 in Tulsa on Friday. thanks for sharing. lee

Hi
That is an extremely nice example of an early C prefix M&P with the 5" barrel. The stocks appear to be original and should be marked inside the right panel with the gun's serial number.

This gun most likely shipped in the last quarter of 1948. The C prefix started in March of that year. I do show one at C46xxx that shipped in January, 1949.

If I could ask one question: are there patent dates on top of the barrel?

SN is stamped on grips but no pat numbers on top of barrel. Educated guess at current value?
