value of N frame ivory grips
I've looked but cannot find prices of any sold Ivory grips like these. Found lots of the magna type but these are more on the order of Target type.
Had these for quite awhile sitting in back of safe. They fit terrible. Recently had a local guy fit them to a pre-27 pinto I have and he did a very nice job.
Just trying to get a value of what they would be worth, so if I ever drop them I'll know how loud to scream .
Sorry for the quick ****** pictures. Just trying to capture the shape.
thanks

I think the last ones I saw for sale were a few years ago and they had the S&W medallions. If I remember right they were $800 back then.

I have been starting to see more examples of ivory for sale and it seems all over the place.
With targets i think its all about how well they fit and form. Especially in the trigger guard area and the horns. If a great fit I'm thinking 1500.00 area for targets ?
I also am a fan of medallions on ivory.

Well, the material alone to make a set of targets would have cost $800-$1000 before the federal ban on interstate commerce of ivory. I have no idea how that effected the price though.

I had a set just like those custom made for an engraved model 27 about two years ago and he originally wanted $1500 but I managed to get him down to $1250. Worth every penny.

No need to kill any animal to have the Ivory look. I like my Boone Trading Company Sim Ivory grips.

Gave dad a set made from walrus tusk ivory with factory medallions for his Model 66-0 RB 2-1/2" for his 250th and final skydive at age 80.
I paid $900 six years ago. Worth every penny and then some just to see the expression on his face.

For the finishing touch send to Emily at Nutmeg Sports for the meds. I have a lot of Ivory, does NOT make me an expert. I think in today's market if you tried to get a set just like those with meds you would pay 12-1500. Then you would have to figure out how to get them shipped legally. It can be done.

I didn't see a lot of the target style ivory grips for sale before the ivory regulations. I would think now, they would be even more rarely seen. It takes a lot of ivory to make a set of target grips! Over the years, I have seen a few nice pair shown here on the forum. OP, yours looks very nice too. I would guess $1500+.
