Triple Lock info
I have just looked at a "TRIPLE LOCK" that has a barrel marking of 45 DA.
Is this correct ? It has a 5 digit serial number that does not have a preceding letter.
Where can I get a pix or two of a TL HE.

does the barrel have the 3rd lock? sounds like a 1917 barrel.
A quick google search will give you literally thousands of pictures

Does the serial # on the butt match the # on the barrel?

The front and middle (3rd lock) locks are shown below.
Does the barrel have an extractor shroud?
The 3rd lock would be un-usable with a 1917 45 DA barrel.

I have encountered quite a number of folks, including not a few dealers, who think any early Smith & Wesson N-Frame revolver is a "Triple Lock". The one in the OP is almost certainly a 1917... serial number is about 131,000 too high to be a TL.

Agreed. It has to be a 1917.
