The label on the bottom is not S&W. Probably a store inventory sticker.

I have a 1951 just like it. Was a friend's uncle's gun that has Target grips and came with a nice Heiser holster...no box though.

That's a beautiful example and the box is probably worth an extra $100 these days. I would have been on that like a fatty on a sheet cake if I had seen it for sale here in CA.

The end label is correct. The sticker on the bottom is not S&W's doing.
That is a very nice CM with its original box. Great deal, in my opinion.

The label on bottom of box could not have been printed in the fifties. It was printed on a thermal printer, probably within the last 5 years or so.
Thermal printing technology did not exist in the fifties.
Beautiful K22 Combat Masterpiece! I would love to own one like yours.

Very nice K-22 Combat Masterpiece,
Your serial lands within the brief period S&W used steel medallions in their Magna stocks instead of the usual nickel coated brass.....
Try putting a magnet to them and if it sticks you got another bonus

I have a Combat Masterpiece serial number K 146880, that dates to earlier in 1952 and has the steel Medallions.
The Medallions in the OPs gun look like the grey plastic that are seen in this time period, an interesting bonus.
