I have to wonder when I used to see the pictures of the buy-backs that some of the larger city's used to run and the huge piles of handguns that they showed turned in for $50 or what ever. How many of them were old S&W, Colts etc? I remember one where they talkd about the number of antique pistols that were turned in, Luger's, Colts etc,

I recently tried to buy such a gun off GB, needing (or so I thought) a Model 14-3 for my K-32 homage. What I actually ended up with was a Model 14-3 with only minor blue loss and an action reminiscent of the masterpiece models of at least a decade earlier. I'm delighted with the gun, of course, but now I'm still needing a donor gun for my project. I had the same thing happen during Project 616 when I got aa nice Model 67-1 with a couple of easily repaired cosmetic issues, but then it wouldn't mate up to the Model 617 barrel profile like I needed. In fairness to the community, it is my practice to sell/trade these "surplus" arms to other shooters so I don't get accused of "hoarding." Anybody need a really sweet Model 14-3 priced right?

According to the above posts almost all of my revolvers are "honest" guns. I enjoy owning, carrying and shooting them. I'd post pics but guess I'm too old (70) to figure out how to do that.

This one shipped in January 1906 - still a beauty and the oldest S&W I own (I paid $200 for it in 2007). All numbers, including stocks (pencil marked) match...

I've owned several of them over the years, but only have one now, an Army 1917.

I've got a 24-3, but it's not old enough I don't suppose.

Well, I had this picture handy, this one was shipped in August 1923. Not a big bore, but a wonderful shooting little .32 Hand Ejector:

Best Regards, Les
