Hello everyone ! I am new , this is my first post . Please forgive me if I do something wrong it is not intended. I have aquired through a trade a S&W Model 48 no dash 83/8 barrel in a factory refinished nickle (RN) inside a rectangle under the left grip . There is a faint turn line in the finish on the cylinder. It is a four screw model with a very wide grooved trigger and wide serrated hammer. Back sight is adjustable and the front sight is red. Is this a shooter or a safe queen in your opinion .serial # K4191xx. It is marked 22M.R.F. ctg. For 22 mag thank you
A very nice shooter. Since the 22MRF is more of a rifle cartridge, the 8 3/8" barrel will get more out it than a shorter tube. The refinish may reduce the value as a collector piece, but it's a very nice revolver that you won't see every day. Enjoy it.
Good find, I have a blue 8 3/8" that's a tack driver. Likes the 50 grain rounds the best. I have taken a couple of turkeys with it. There are some self defense rounds in .22 WMR now that is designed as a handgun load.
By all means use it for what it was made for, shoot it!
