Default Pre- Model 30

What is a very good to excellent condition Pre-Model 30 selling for at this time? Going to be an auction gun, have seen photos but haven't held it in my hands. Serial #628647. Is this a 40's or 50's manufactured gun?? Blue steel and original diamond grips. Looks like a pretty nice piece. TY!

The serial number range is 536685-712953 for 1946-1960. I bought a nice nickel RB .32 3 1/4" .32 from 1938 for $325 two years ago and a blue 4" .32 Regulation Police for $350. The RP is in the 586xxx range and it shipped in February 1953.

Recently picked one up in the 556 serial range in near new condition, numbered stocks etc., (no box) for $550 and thought it was a good deal. Would buy a couple more at that price if I could find them.
There was one on Guns Int. a couple of weeks ago in similar condition with the box for a shade under a grand.

Comparing to a couple of mine, I would guess 1954. If in 95% condition may bring $500 or better. If a 2" it will bring more. Check for original grips. I've got a couple I wouldn't take $600 for.

The one on Guns Int. is actually over $1000 and there is another one for $1300. Asking and getting are of course two different things. The one for $1000 is at a Cabelas in Wheeling WV and has been up for several weeks.

I live about 80 miles from that store and was there about 3 weeks ago but do not remember seeing it.

It's a Model of 1953 New I frame .32 Hand Ejector (Pre model 30), would have shipped between March and August 1956, and is a 3 screw with 2" or 3" barrel.

As nice as you say it is, it can bring $500 and maybe more with 2" Bl.

You can find a photo of the one at Cabelas by going to Guns International "All Gun Categories", at the top of the page, under the sub-heading of 32 revolvers. It was there today.

Here's a 1956 I traded into last weekend at the Wyoming Weapons Collectors show. Check out that Target Trigger. I'm into it for about $390.
