Appears to be little interest in these. I guess I've missed the boat yet again.
Ended up having to add the Colt version as well. I decided on a re-arsed for ww2 example. Found a correct TEXTAN '42 butt to the rear holster for it that is not shown here.

That is nice. I just got one myself, S/N in the 83XXX range. Yours looks to be in a little better shape though.
I really like the holster and kit you have with it.

That is a stunning assembly you've put together!!
I've been working on assembling a complete rig for mine. I finally found the half-moon pouch but have been unable to find the correct lanyard. It seems every time I think I've located one I get told that it was for the 1911 and not the 1917. I figure that once I've finally found the correct lanyard I'll run across a cozen of them in the following weeks.

I came across a number of correct lanyards. The entire rig was easier to put together than I expected. I initially couldn't find a holster. ...but wait a day or two and they pop up.
I really expected trouble finding the reversed ww2 holster, but found one the very evening I bought the gun.

My S&W 1917 started me on a slippery slope with 45acp revolvers. I shoot them all. The S&W is the beauty. The Colt is the beast. It is really cool to shoot a piece of history. Yours is beauty. Enjoy it.

Great job...I can only imagine how tall wearing a rig like that would make just about anyone feel, the confidence would be inspiring. I know there must have been quite a few guys that had alot more confidence in a tried and true revolver rather than a fancy new semi auto loader. Some given the choice would probably take the revolver over the semi auto, I know that even knowing what I know today I would take the 1917 over the 1911 and do so quite often.
