What Vintage is this Screwdriver and Value?
This is one of those "I can't believe it" finds. I was in a pawn shop the other day and as I walked by the end of the counter, I saw behind the counter, a magnetic strip holding with tools on it. I saw this little S&W screwdriver. I knew it was an older one and asked the guy there if he would sell it. No, but picked it up and said "here you can have it".
So Wow I had the find of a life time! Well maybe not, but can anyone tell me the vintage of this S&W screwdriver and what it is worth?
Thanks, John

It looks to be a mid to late 1950's aluminium "8-row" knurled SAT. They routinely sell for $75-$120 on eBay. I would expect that the crud could be cleaned out of the handle and it would sell for somewhere in the $90 range.
These Sight Adjustment Tools, shipped with the 44 Magnums, like this:
For reference, here is a photo of some of the SATs that S&W shipped with their target revolvers:
Hope this helps,

They really do have some beautiful color. Here's a link to a thread that I displayed a few more photos...
Aged Ivory on a 4" 5-Screw Pre-29
Note: I also still have the perfect set of cokes that came with the gun...
