Bill,
Thanks for the additional pictures of the half scale RM. With your permission, I will add these to my file about this beautiful production. Both the half scale and the 3/4 scale are beyond amazing to me. I agree with les.b that producing the half scale model would be even more challenging from the standpoint of the size of the small parts, but only marginally so. It's just hard to wrap my mind around the ability and skill necessary to produce these as fully functioning firearms. It was no doubt a labor of love for him, requiring great patience and fortitude. What an achievement! And what a treasure for you to own!!!

What is amazing to me is that with full scale S&W's, it took a whole building full of specialized craftsman to work on the various components of these guns. No one craftsman built or worked on every part.
With these 1/2 and 3/4 scale versions, one man did it all. Truly a tremendous talent.

Not just a talent, but rather a flat out genius. It takes someone gifted with a higher mental capacity to contemplate and accomplish something like this. A person like this can see things you and I cannot see. In all my years collecting, these little guns still mystify me. The detail and the accuracy of the scale are truley incredible. It's fine art at its very best , your miniatures rival anything in the NRA museum. Ray Hutchens legacy and talent should be shared with the world.

Wow again! You are a smart man, you appear to have cornered the market on these miniatures prior to posting about them. I'm from near Indianapolis and have never come across any of his specimens.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the story behind these little guns? They're brilliant.

I think it would be easier to just make a bigger pencil and fake it.

After a 35-year machinist/toolmaker career, I felt reasonably competent as a metalworker. These minis make me feel like a kindergartener !
Just wow!

Utterly incredible. I have to say, I think besides genius a touch of splendid madness--almost inhuman focus-- would be required to do such dazzling work.
