14-3 came today
I picked up my 14-3 today. I was able to find a nice five screw K38 back in December, and a nice four screw 14 no dash in March. So I had to find a three screw. This one doesn't look as good as the other two, but they are all shooters. I got it because the price was right, about half of what I paid for the other two. The stocks it came with were rough and incorrect, so I put a pair of targets I had on it for now. I may send it to Smith to be refinished and I have a pair of much better targets for it. I may take it out to the range tomorrow.

One fine trio. I'm sure they are a joy to shoot.

Yes, I was watching an episode Adam 12 yesterday in a season they carried the Model 14 or K-38 as I prefer to call them. I need to get one to match my K-22.

Great collection. Model 14's are highly prized over here in Australia as a good ISSF Centrefire gun as well as Service Pistol (sort of similar to PPC and WA1500).

Very nice! Any idea how much it would cost to have the 14-3 refinished by S&W? I just recently picked up a 14-4 and was thinking about possibly having it re-done.

Per their website....$170.00 to $275.00.
I've had a Model 10-5 and a Model 58 re-blued by them. They did excellent work.

I've had only two guns refinished by the factory----one over 50 years ago, another maybe 15 years ago.
Both were indistinguishable from new.
That was then.

I'm not seeing anything that needs refinished in the original post. Am I missing someething?

Fantastic guns! I have a dash three and a no dash. Model 14's are great. As Obi Wan Kenobi said, "a more elegant weapon for a more civilized age."

Very nice!!! What's not to like about a K38, or 14? I have a -3. It was so reasonable to buy, and is 1 heck of a gun. Bob

I guess I'm a better photographer than I thought . The finish on the 14-3 is significantly worse than the other two. I want them to all be the same or similar condition. Even with factory refinishing I'll still have about the same in each one and I'm happy with that.
