The #1 on my wish list has changed
I'll turn 65 this month so wanted to get myself a present -- something memorable -- I haven't done that in the past. S&W announced its 38 Centennial revolver the year I was born. Can't find a Centennial born or shipped, at least, in 1952 so something close would be okay by me. Found a used one I can shoot and still be mighty proud of, too. It's a '55 model, the #s match and it came with the lock pin and box, which shows more wear than the gun. Yes, I paid too much, but... [add the cliché of your choice].
Slàinte,
Bob

You didn't pay too much if you got what you wanted. Congrats on finding what you were looking for

I, too, love the Centennials and carry the current iteration. Great find and great to carry. Happy Birthday.

My thoughts as well!
Congrats Cowboy, on a real beauty, and getting something you will really enjoy, every time you pick it up, or just knowing it's in your safe.

You can always lie to yourself and just say "It's a placeholder. When I find my birth year Centennial, I'll sell this one." Yeah, right!

Thanks "all Y'all" (that's the plural of Y'all, Y'know!), for the Happy BD wishes and nice words about my Holy Grail Centennial. In reverse order here goes...
Charles: thanks. You never cease to amaze me with your finds. Thank you.
moosedog: '52 was great, wasn't it? We're livin' proof.
Bruce: Smilin'. How many Z's are there in "FAT CHANCE?"
Jack: You've got it! "Yeah right!" B'lieve I'll have this one for the duration.
Valmet: one of these days yours will come.
Wheelgun: Amen.
Kings: I'm thinkin' it won't get much safe time.
Targets & quinn: Thank you.
SAF: I've hauled the M&P 340 and 640 Pro for a couple years.
always: thanks.
Eddie: Yeah, like that, but there are those who....

Congratulations on your birthday and grail revolver. When I turned 65 always wanted one of the 26" long octagon barreled Winchester 1894's. I already had one of the 20" long octagon barreled Canadian Centennial commorative carbines and liked the way it handled and shot. Cherry's Fine Guns had the 26" version so got that for my 65th birthday. with the extra 6" of barrel just hangs there when you shoot it. Plus with the extra long barrel velocity is somewhat improved over the 20" version. Frank
