Default Trying to ID an old revolver

Hello everyone!

I actually did read the sticky at the top of this sub-forum and I *think* I have it narrowed down to a .32 Hand Ejector S&W Long I with a 3-inch barrel, but I'm not quite sure and I'd rather err on the side of caution and get a few more opinions.

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few knowledgeable folks here who can help with your revolver. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them as my bit of experience is with the larger frame models But, I did enjoy your photos of a really nice .32!

It's a Model of 1903, .32 Hand Ejector, third model. The closest SN I have on my list is 3181xx, shipping in 7/1920.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Was that barrel length measured from the front of the cylinder to the muzzle?

Good snag, BTW. These little guns are fun to shoot. Your gun predates heat treated cylinders which began with SN 321000 in 1920.

It was, yes! Actually had a hell of a time finding a ruler, I haven't needed one.

Wasn't a snag, it's been in my family for years, became mine when my parents split years ago, but I just happened to forget about it. Found it again in the holster while cleaning out old boxes, was a nice surprise to find!

Then, the barrel is a 3.25". They didn't make a 3".

Don't store it in a holster. May cause it to rust.
