A 27 No-Dash Find
Well, looks like it's finally my turn to share a nice find once again. I stopped by an LGS today to see what was new. At first I overlooked this gun, assuming it was an overpriced 27-2 and I have never really been interested in the 8 3/8" barrels. While talking to the salesman about another gun, I noticed that the tag was marked as "27". I pointed it out and was about to ask him what dash number it was when he picked it up and handed it to me. That's when I realized it was wearing some really nice Cokes, which the store had not caught onto. The two sides didn't appear to match, until I looked at the front of them and saw how the grain went. What kind of wood do you think they are? This gun appears to have been fired very little, as you will see in the pics below. It came with a wood presentation box that was much newer than the gun, so I care very little for that. Got it for just under $1,450 OTD. Enjoy the pics!
UPDATE: I should point out that with the help of Doc44, it was determined that this 27 no-dash has a 27-2 barrel, for some reason. Oh well, it's still a beautiful gun and I plan to shoot it. And the sweet pair of cokes it's wearing brighten my spirits immensely.

I love the long tube 27's and that one is a beauty! But I'm a little biased... Love Affair - The 8.375" 357 Magnum
Your 27 is set up just like mine, except I have some KB thumbrest Ropers on it...

I didn't miss them for long. I didn't realize they were making cokes with GA. I was under the impression that they were all walnut. How common are cokes in GA compared to walnut or others?

Most Cokes were GA.
IIRC I've seen a few in Rosewood.

Thanks Paul. For those of you who relatively new to the forum, this is a prime example of the value of the forum. I have learned more from the members here than any other resource. Weatherby is very knowledgeable about wood stocks and is a good person to contact for information or to locate stocks.
