Default No Smiths here, but a famous Smith owner

This is a picture of the 1946 USMC Rifle and Pistol team. Noted among them, famous Marine shooter and FBI Agent Walter Walsh. My Dad is also in this picture.Top row 5th man in.
Recently, a good friend of mine as well as a good friend of Mr. Walsh's Son, had the good fortune to take his Dads modified RM out to shoot. Not sure if this was the gun he used to kill one of the Public Enemies while a FBI agent. Mr. Walsh liked his S&W's, but I think maybe the M1911A1 Colt even more. A little history here. My Dad went on to distinguished pistol shooter and in 1952 won 3 gold medals in the Marine matches, I think, in Quantico. Lt. Col. Walsh had been his team coach. I have all my Dads gold medals stored in a shadow box in my safe. Ready to pass on to the next generation. Big Larry

My Dad, a US Marine, and a veteran of WW2 and Korea, has always been my hero. He passed away a few years back at 89 years. He was a 20 year Marine and Father to 3 girls and one boy. Super shooter with any weapon, he taught me to shoot at 9 years.
He also taught 100's if not 1000's of Marines as well. Semper Fi to my Dad from his Son, also a US Marine. Big Larry

Wow! Congrats on a dad with such background!

My dad no such accolades. As WWII erupted, just overage to volunteer for military service. Trying to do his part, a Civil Defense Corp volunteer, enforcing mandated "blackout" practices against German bombers... in Kansas City, Mo! (Only later a point of humor!) Had his WWI style white helmet with "CD" insignia for years! Executive retirement & passed at age 90.

For me, worlds best dad! Myself now latter seventies & yet trying to emulate him presently with my very own youngest... Son age 13!!! Passing to him my pix of a wild career!
Life is good!
