Smile KB Pre-War Stocks/3 Panel Set

Keith Brown donated a set of stocks to the annual auction of the S&WCA held during our annual symposium in Concord, NC last week. The stocks are crafted in the Roper style, traditional finish on the English walnut, and are a matched three panel set. The stock panel not on the .357 looks a little different because of the background, but it is matched to the other two. I purchased the stocks to go on my one Registered Magnum that will be eighty years old next month. Click on the photos for a better look.

Bill

In the box was a set and a half of KB grips. Hmmm, who is going to buy a half set of grips, even Keith Brown grips. Took awhile, but I finally caught on. Really great set Doc.

And it led to an exciting auction. They look even better on that revolver.
Great buy, Doc and a very generous donation to the SWCA from Keith Brown.
Regards,

Bill:

Beautiful craftsmanship - both the stocks and the gun.

Thanks for sharing,

Great pairing! And as fine as the photography is, the stocks are breathtaking in person!

Absolutely the epitome of the art.

Looks like the storage/display fixture that the third panel is screwed to, has a partial right side stock. Is that what I'm seeing?

Bill,

It was a great Symposium...as usual! Keith's 3 panel grips are a "one of a kind" as far as I know. Congratulations on winning them. I told Sunny what I thought the price would be that they would go was and hit it exactly.

Glad to see that you are using the new S&W Historical Foundation pin as your logo. Membership in the S&W Collectors Association and in the S&W Historical Society carry tremendous advantages which would benefit anyone who is a serious Smith & Wesson collector.

Hondo44 Jim...you are correct.

Bob...the 10th anniversary S&WCA lapel pin is superb. Jean Jinks did an outstanding job of designing it. I fully agree membership in the S&WHF and S&WCA is the best way for a collector of S&Ws to learn about the history of S&W and gain access to many of the finest S&W firearms in existence.
