S&W Older Revolver datge?
Looking for some info on this old revolver. Curious about the manufacture date and a possible model?
Hand Eject style.
Butt Serial number K 322546
38 S&W Special CTG
Adjustable sights
There is an "M" in the location for the model and also a "3" in a circle?
I was told it is a 1958 year but would like to verify that and get more (& or correct) info if available.
OH Yes. 4" Barrel

Welcome! There are two models that fit the details provided, the 4" barrel .38 Combat Masterpiece (later the model 15), and the 6" K-38 Masterpiece (model 14). If I remember SNs correctly yours was probably made in the mid-1950s, not long before model stamping started. Hope this is helpful.

Should be a marked model. The serial number is from 1958. Check the inside where the cylinder rotates into the gun there "should" be a model number like murphydog described. Post some pictures!

Probably one right on the cusp of model stamping. Barrel length?

Early 1958, and very likely not model-marked. Model numbers were assigned in 1957, but lots of the K-38 Masterpieces and CMs were assembled and shipped in the first few months of 1958 that did not get the model number stamped on them. There is a fair amount of overlap.
And yes, as Alan noted, the barrel length will determine whether this is a K-38 Masterpiece or a .38 Combat Masterpiece.

The first half of 1958 is in the ball park.

I list two bracketing your SN K322546: K3153xx shipping 6/58 and K3351xx shipping 5/58. It's a strong possibility yours shipped about the same period.
