Some Old School Revolvers...
I went to my local gun shop on Thursday Afternoon to pick up two revolvers, both S&Ws. One was an Aim Surplus Model 19-6 that has that really been there, done that, put away wet in the holster. I've never seen wood stocks that dark. I'll post pictures of the 19-6 on the modern revolver section; here is a 1948 M&P 4" that I got from a member of ColtForum.com and a Snubby M&P I bought locally in San Antonio a while ago. What's neat about the 4" M&P is marked POLICIA NACIONAL DE COLOMBIA. My wife is from Bogota so there is that connection.

Ironically, one of my first exposures to the M&P/Model 10 was on a TV show where the setting for the episode was Columbia, I think. A boss cop had a pre-M-10. I looked up the gun in one of Larry Koller's books and the vintage shown had that squiggle hammer, too. (Made 1948-abt. 1955).
MANY of these guns have served in Latin America. Few seem to have returned to the USA. That marking is interesting.
I think the Beretta M-92 series is more likely there now, though.
Good luck in finding a cylinder release for the Columbian gun.

Very nice! What year is the 2"?
I have a Colombian M&P identical to yours from 1948. I had two . But, I just sold one to a member of the Colt Forum.
Best,
Charles

Charles, wasn't one of yours missing the cylinder release thumb piece also? I seem to have seen one somewhere recently that looked just like that.
CWO4:
I love that 2" M&P!!! Great guns all!!
Best Regards, Les

Les - this is the gun that Charles (policerevolvercollector) "sold to a member of coltforum.com!" Me LOL!
Charles - I don't have the S&W Collectors Guide to look it up; but the serial number is C99648
Sine we're talking Police Guns here's that never made it out of the US despite the engraved police agency:
10-7
Here's the crest on the right side of the gun:
The Peruvian equivalent of our FBI.
Oh yes TexasStar - I ordered a cylinder release and screw for an M&P from Numrich.
