Default I-frame infection

In the past I have suffered from N-frame lust, (still do) and now it seems that I have an I-frame infection. Or maybe it's infatuation, anyway, it may turn into an infestation. I picked up these two on Sunday at the Ft. Worth show. A post-war .32HE snub with grips that were once J-frames that were cut down for the improved I-frame. Then the really odd one. A post-war Terrier, that is the New I-frame with the J style trigger guard and grip. It also has the flat latch cylinder release. Dang, I still haven't gotten the older Terrier I won on auction last week!

Wayne,

That's an awesome pair. The larger trigger guard on the Terrier is both New I frame and New J frame; introduced on both with the Model of 1953 I and J.

One reason the I frames are thought to be cool is because they're cheaper than N frames. But it all breaks down when one buys three Is for every one N!

I forgot, plus I got 9 rounds of ammo and a Bianchi speed strip with the Terrier. According to some prices of .38S&W at the show, that's around $10 worth.

I have the I frame infection also. Can't shake it.

Good things come in small packages.

I remember exactly the day I contracted "I-framitis" myself. I was at a gun show in Roanoke, VA and found an early '20s vintage HFT at a good price because of a bulged barrel and a sweet little post-War 32 HE snub in true I-frame (leaf spring) configuration. The 22 surprised me with its low price while the 32 was only a little high (early??) for the time. They were neither the first nor the last I-frames I bought, and I'm still suffering from this disorder, but like most addicts I tell myself I can quit at any time... then then again who wants to be called a quitter??

Actually I have put up a few of them over the years. I'm embarrassed to say these threads don't illustrate the full extent of my disease.

.32 Hand Ejector 3rd Model #359379

S&W .32 Regulation Police #353824 - 6" Barrel

It ain't just sickness, it's a real disease!

Yes, celebrate and enjoy the symptoms.

Bravo on the Mod 34 pre dash, it's actually a Model of 1953 New I frame which followed the Improved I frame with small trigger guard.

Your 38 S&W I frame is actually a Regulation Police if it has the square butt. Terrier if has a round butt.

This will help on the differences of the evolutionary changes:
