US NAVY Victory workout
Took the old pitted Navy Victory out and shot about a box of 38 spl 158 SWC rounds through it.
I had fears of cracking the forcing cone because of the age and condition of this old shooter (I call her Seniorita Negra).
Thanks to inputs from members in this forum I now have a working CCW revolver when I go to my next station in NH/VT.
She's quite accurate too. That's about 5-6 cylinders of 38 spl 158 grain SWC cast boolits at 10-15 yards. All on target.
Thanks again for the inputs.
Jim.

Very cool- I have a 1944 mfg Victory sent to US Strategic Service in Norfolk that my grandfather brought home from WW2 and I like putting a box or two thru it every once in a while.

Neat gun, you should look for a pair of original grips.

Don't worry about that old forcing cone. Modern .38 Special isn't going to hurt the old workhorse.

Years back I managed to buy a Victory Model from the widow of an old friend--mostly as a remembrance. I don't shoot it much but it's right on the money with standard .38 Specials.
As an AP I carried one quite a bit as the Model 15s were in short supply at the time. Like a lot of people I underestimated how well the old warhorse could shoot.
Decent Victories are getting right up there in value, too.

Your old Navy deserves a proper set of grips and a lanyard swivel. Nice , classic piece.

When I took granddaughter to the range a year are so back. I let shoot several of my revolvers. Asked her later which she liked best. She says the one that's older than you.
