SN K 8373 indicates that it is an early K-22 Masterpiece. It likely shipped around December 1947.

Ok thanks I kinda thought it was but I figured I'd ask around I paid $150 for it shoots great and true. Very clean other then some holster wear on the barrel id say its about 85% it also has the original wood k frame grips, witch I know are not cheap. But there is a small spot of bad news on the grip frame and it had this grip extension on it. Any idea what it may be worth

$150 ... Really? This would set a new bar for grand theft/gun. Even with some blemishes, it is worth 4-6 times that price. Shoot, smile, repeat.
Edit - plus pre-war magnas? You must be joking. Shoot, smile, repeat, shoot, smile, repeat, shoot, smile, repeat, etc.

$150 is very cheap for a typical postwar K-22. If it truly has pre-war Magnas, then $150 is REALLY cheap.

Yeah it's a pretty cool steal and a great gun if it is a 1947 k22. It just doesn't make sense with the grip and the adjustable sight that's on it, almost seems a bit older. But ive been wrong before

Mine dates from 1948. It looks identical to yours except that I installed a set of Sile grips on it.

The pre war sight adjusted from the side for left to right, if I'm not mistaken. Witch this has,and most post war sights were in dack in front of the hammer. And could you modify them to resemble a pre war k22?

Your pictures tell the whole story.
The rear sight is the micro-adjustable postwar style. These were standard on the postwar K-22, which is what you have. The K prefix serial number was not used until after the war.
Also, the Magna stocks are the postwar style. They are early postwar, having the sharp shoulder, and are probably original to this gun. The prewar Magna stocks had more area covered by the checkering.

This picture illustrates the difference between the prewar and postwar checkering pattern on Magna stocks.

Like I said I've been wrong before. I did some research on it but couldnt find much on dating the model or if it was k22 masterpiece or combat i really wanted to hear other opinions on it. I shoot a lot but no gun buff on on older models thanks though I really appreciate the info.

6" barrel is a Masterpiece, 4" barrel is Combat Masterpiece. Shoot and enjoy. Gun was worth way more than $150
