Default Metal polishing and rust bluing a 1917

This is a link to a post about rebluing a 1917 that Jim Fishers accomplished in a Seminar taught in my workshop this summer.
Metal Polish - Rust Bluing Seminar
Refinishing is an oft discussed topic in this forum. I taught a method that while not factory type refinish is similar in appearance to a pre-war satin finish. (note: the brl is not tight nor sideplate fully seated. There was no finish on this gun when it came in the shop.)

A custom 32 Kit gun converted and rust blued in my shop a few years ago.

PM my for info about next years Seminars.

Nice, and I REALLY like the grips on that kit gun. I have a 3 1/4in nickel .32 that would love a set like that.

The .32 grips are Sanderson recheckered and refinished.

Side plate fit looks very good even though it's not fully tightened. That's the First place I look on a refinish to judge the quality.

Very nice. I agree, depending on the gun a nice refinish will add value and longevity without the price of a total restoration.
