Default Early Hand Ejector Target Sights

I have read the thread on the notable threads on these sights, but want to be clear on how they adjust. One loosens both screws on the blade, tightening one to drive the blade in the direction desired? The elevation screw is just loosen or tighten? Dang these things are small.. None of my gunsmith sets have anything close. A Jewelers screwdriver? Two are already buggered a bit, worried, lots or Kriol I assume. I can do some windage with the old gal, but would prefer to get them set right for my eyes. 1916 22/32 HFT single screw for elevation.

Yes, you are correct! All threads are standard right hand. Elevation is screwed downward to raise. I probably have a couple dozen pre-war target Smiths. Precision screw drivers are a must. You can grind your own on a small round wheel. You can buy files to clean up buggered screw slots. You might have to thin a file to fit those tiny slots.

Thanks for the information, righty tighty lefty loosie. I have restored several old English motorcycles and cars, Whitworth cheese heads.. Have good pin punches and files, so I can clean up the heads that are buggered. These little critters are really small. Will try and find some decent Jeweler's screwdrivers, most I have seen locally are not that good may have to order them.

Very well made with good steel are the old Singer sewing machine screwdrivers. They're small and I've always found them at thrift shops etc. They have singer printed on the handles.

Excellent idea, still have my Mom's old 30's Singer upstairs I do believe that it had a screwdriver or two in the drawer. Haven't looked at that for years..
