Nice ivory, although not S&W stocks.
They have post war medallions so I presume you mean they fit a post war N frame and will be too short for a pre war N frame.
$275 to $300.

He didn't make an offer yet. Just a, I want those grips if you ever decide to sell them. I can't find anything on the internet to compare prices with so far.

Yes, that is what I mean, like an early post war gun from the late forty's - early fifties. They came to me on a model 27-2 and fit very well.

"--------------although not S&W stocks."
A King Super Target Triple Lock came to live here recently-----with medallion ivory grips.(!!!) I was more thrilled with the grips than the gun---but not for long.
Very shortly afterwards I learned the medallions were I frame size. Strike One!! Well, maybe they were out of big ones that day. At least they're period correct.
Then the letter arrived---with Strike Two---and Three.
It says, "S&W did not offer ivory grips for their "N" frame revolvers. The ivory grips were generally added by the distributor or dealer to fill a special order."
Oh well.

A Law is a Law,Just because you choose not to follow it does not make it any less of a Law.I hate it just as much as You but it is what it is.I also think the NFA Short Barrel Rifle Law is stupid,I don't go chopping my Barrels though.

The guy that built my elephant ivory grips for me provided a provenance letter with them that certified the material was taken from a legally imported tusk from 1939. I have no idea of the legal force of that letter and haven't checked it out either since I have no intention of ever selling the gun or the grips. I guess my estate will have to deal with those consequences.

I have enough elephant ivory on hand RIGHT NOW to make 100+ sets of grips. We brought it all back after hunting. People who say things about ivory usually are parroting what they have heard. There are ways around these things LEGALLY. Posts 13, 16, and 18 are dead right.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife will confiscate illegal ivory. It is on the State Endangered Species list. The law is vigorously enforced when an opportunity like this presents itself.
You've been warned.

I'm not sure it was wise on my part. I just peered out my curtains and saw a black helicopter circling my home. I could see there was a squirrel type emblem on the tail, and I could barely make out the writing, "p-a-t-r-o-l" below it.
I kinda knew this day was coming. When I was a kid, I would pick the Kalifornia poppy, later I progressed to tearing Federal lablels off my pillows, and yes, I even sped in my patrol car when I really wasn't after anyone, just cause it was fun.
No mister, I stepped over that line, they have their smoking gun, ... they have their dirty cop! Never mind all the murderers, rapists, robber, thieves and thugs, I arrested and got confessions from. I could have bought the grips from, Gunbroker, Nutmeg, or Collinscraft, but no, I took a short cut to save a few bucks.
I plan on giving a full confession to the people's Republic of North Koree ... Ah,...Un, ... Northern Kalifornia.

Richochet was probably co-piloting that chopper. He's the point man on Cali infractions. A new boogy man. You have been warned!

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. But if you are "felony stupid" perhaps claiming that you can't tell the difference between real and imitation ivory could be a defense to prosecution. At least you might avoid jail time, get the case refiled as a civil complaint (Feds like to this all the time), pay the $500.000.00 fine and be made to take an Ivory Identification Class. My agent keeps saying I will never make it as a standup comic but what does he know. hardcase60

Here's a good article written last year pertaining to the new rules on ivory that were implemented by the Obama administration. Take note of the first paragraph under "Interstate Commerce" and the "gifting" of ivory. Of course, these things may change under the new administration.
And ignore the title of the link, it will take you to the article from Ammoland.
