Default 32 Long Revolver Identification

I have been asked to assist in identification of what I believe to be a 1903 Hand Ejector revolver recently discovered by the family of a former Chief of Police. I can't seem to find a way to put pictures in the thread from my computer, instructions aside!

Model Number: No model Number on yoke
Type: Hand Ejector
Serial Number: 120XXX
CTG/Caliber: 32 Long Ctg
Barrel Length: 3 1/4 inches
Sights: Fixed
Strain Screw: Yes
Butt Swivel: No
Lanyard Ring: No
How Many Screws?: 5
Butt Configuration: Round
Finish: Nickel

This may be a "Change 1" revolver.

I appreciate whatever you fine folks can offer!

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! From the S&W standard catalog 4th edition, the gun is a 5th change from the 1910 to 1917 period.

Thanks wiregrass! Time period sounds about right, but pictures I've seen of that Model have 'SMITH AND WESSON" on the right hand side of the barre. This one is blank on the right hand side.

I think it was pretty common for guns of that period and earlier to have the right side blank.

You can attach up to 5 pictures from your computer per post as attachments. They need to be sized no larger than 1920x1080. Click on Go Advanced below the text box. When the page opens, scroll down to Manage Attachments, click there and follow the prompts to select and upload your pictures one at a time.

All markings should be on the LEFT side. Please refer to the attached photograph of number 89740.

If it is a Model of 1903, that SN indicates probable shipment sometime in the 1910-11 period.

Factory letter shows no evidence of being shipped but Roy stated it likely left the factory Summer of 1910.

Okay, so yours does have markings. On the left side, just like mine.

Yes, all markings are on the left side and the top of the barrel.
