BBQ Gun Letter Arrived......
Here's a short recap w/ pics. The letter isn't particularly special . But, Monticello NY must have been an interesting place in 1919. It seems to have burnt to the ground about 10 years prior.

Village of Monticello, New York
Before & after pics are posted below.....
Best,
Charles

Thanks for sharing your letter. Looks like your gun got bobbed at some point.

That's great, Charles. Patience is a virtue, right?
I'm pretty sure 5" M&Ps are my favorite barrel lengths, but that "almost" snubbed version is pretty sweet.
Range report, if you please. I'll bet that's going to be a hoot to shoot.
Slàinte,
Bob

That's what I keep telling myself. Not sure I believe it yet.

Hey, you can become an SWCA member, get $10 off each letter and may receive special perks with each request...

Already was a SWCA Member,It's not for me.I will never go to the symposium so the only perk was contacting Roy to get my messed up Letters fixed(Almost every letter I received had a mistake,Some that could have cost me Hundreds of Dollars). The $10 off a letter must be new as I paid $50 for every letter I got.I don't know what the special "perks" are You speak of but I'd be happy with a correct letter with accurate info and no Typos.

The extra $25 has nothing to do with the improved turn around time. Increasing the cost had been debated for some time within the SWCA and SWHF, but S&W set the price. When S&W decided to end the program, the SWHF took it over and upped the price to better reflect the cost of implementing the program. The increased turn around time comes from addition help Roy now has on researching, preparing and mailing the letters. That helped even if the cost had remained the same.
There are other benefits to being a member besides lower letter costs. Roy will give ship dates upon query in the private forum. Also, occasionally he turns up and communicates new information on niche guns that collectors didn't know existed or, if known about, the details were sometimes missing. There is also a searchable database to help members nail down a nearby shipping date and to store valuable information on guns they own or of interest.

I'd like to know who did the restoration work. The transformation is incredible!
