Default TV Victory sighting

I was watching a 1964 episode of The Avengers and one of the actors was holding a Victory model. What caught my attention was that the barrel had been shortened to about 3 1/2", with the half moon sight reattached. You could see the smooth grips and the lug was still present.

BTW, the female lead was Honor Blackman, not Diana Rigg. But Honor was wearing leather in many of the scenes.

I watched an episode or two of a 1950's detective show starring Robert Taylor on YouTube a week or so ago. At the opening and ending of the episode, about five cops shoot their revolvers on a range. They're five-inch .38-200's, still with lanyard rings.

My guess is that a prop house bought some ex BSR 's cheap. Those were common surplus guns then.

The Sheriff of Cochise/US Marshal show had a hero with a M&P. I think he had two. One had real stag grips and one had fake. One is a five-incher, the other had a six-inch barrel. Check YouTube. Search for photos. In those, you can see that his shoulder holster in the later series is floral carved, as was the buscadero rig he wore as sheriff. But in the opening sequences he's firing probably a Colt SAA, which he cocks for each shot. In US Marshal episodes, he draws and shoots an M&P. His deputies usually carry snubs, I think Colts. I don't recall seeing any with other drawn guns, but a few have longer barrels, maybe four-inches.
,
Openings of Superman showed a four-inch M&P. In other seasons it was a Colt OP.

Loved the Avengers, and of course Diana Riggs was the hottest. Honor was great too.

Yes, she was played by Honor Blackman after she left The Avengers, I think.

A little too "butch" for my taste, but she was attractive.
She was an excellent actress to play Miss Galore in, Goldfinger.

My favorite among Bond girls may be Britt Ekland. (Played Mary Goodnight.) Her fellow Swede Maud Adams was also nice.

I think the most S&W's in a Bond movie may have been in, Live and Let Die. I liked the book much more than the movie. Jane Seymour was the girl in the film, and she was among my least favorite Bond girls. The film also changed Bond's CIA pal Felix Leiter from Fleming's "straw-haired Texan" to a black man.
