Default 38 CTG Identification

If anyone can help, I'm interested in in the manufacture date and estimated value of a .38 S&W CTG that my late uncle owned.

Here's some info that should also be observable in the attached photos:

Serial # V173910
Stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY"
Stamped "NOT ENGLISH MAKE"
Patented Feb. 6, 1906; SEPT. 14, 1909; and DEC. 29, 1914
Four screws (3 on frame and 1 in front of trigger guard) plus one strain screw in the front gripstrap (5 screws total)
No model # on the yoke (only what appears to be the assembly #).

It is a Lend/Lease British Service Revolver (BSR) from 1942. It was released after the war for civilian sale, which is what many of the extra stamps are about.

It actually has four screws in the sideplate. One is hiding under those cheap replacement stocks.
