Default Need help with model/change/date

I just acquired this. K frame in .38. Not sure if m&p,police,etc.
SN 27XXXX. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What are the best auction sites for on-line sales?

It's a very good condition M&P which likely shipped in early to mid-1917. Some might call it a Model of 1905, fourth change. It seems completely original and correct.

That's a beauty. S/N 273839 shipped in Apr 17.

Heat treated cylinders began at about s/n 316648 so no hot loads.

Welcome! 148 gr target wadcutters would be a good shooting load for this one, but any standard pressure 158 gr lead rounds would be fine also.

This was made during a brief (about 5 year) period in which the frames had no S & W logo, which was usually found on the left frame under the thumb piece or on the sideplate on the right. If you remove the stock panels you may be able to see the SN written in pencil on the inside of the right one. Enjoy!
