Hello all,
New guy here and I would like to thank you guys for helping me identify this new little honey. I got this from a cousin whose father handed it down to him. He's not a gun guy and I told him I would give it a good home.
So I believe what I have is a post war pre-model 30 Improved 5 screw (595xxx) all numbers match, even the grips,it is a coil spring. She is in fair shape with some cylinder drag. The cylinder does bind so that will be taken care of.

Have you check to make sure the extractor rod isn't partly backed out? That could be the reason the cylinder is hanging up.

False alarm after a little cleaning and some oil the action is nice and clean tight lock-up. I cant wait to get it out and burn some powder.

You have a ".32 Hand Ejector Improved I frame, 1st version" with round sight, from the 1951 period.

It's the model before the Pre Model 30 which began in 1953.

It's in $400-500 range depending on area of the country.

The ones I have seen sell lately were up to $600. These are exceptionally nice little revolvers. You will find they grow on you, and cause you to buy more. I have 2", 3.25", and 4" in the I Frame .32's.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Before you take it to a gunsmith, there are some things you can check. First, make sure the ejector rod is tight. Open the cylinder and see if you can unscrew it. If so, tighten it hand tight. Then, take a wooden clothes pin and clamp it over the knurled end with the knurled end in the wire indentation on the pin. Clamp some pliers over the clothes pin and slightly tighten it further.

See if the drag is gone. If not, with the cylinder open, push the ejector rod out and see if there is residue behind the ejector star or on the cylinder. Clean thoroughly if necessary.

See if the drag is gone. If not, close the cylinder, grasp it lightly and pull back toward the hammer. Cock the gun. If that eliminates the drag, you need some endshake bearings to re-establish the cylinder to forcing cone gap. Google for them and make sure you get some for an I frame. Installing them is relatively easy and we would be happy to walk you through it.

I read somewhere they moved the logo to the left side, as in reclowns images in 82... was that just for the mod 10 versions>? as well as reducing the size of the larger logo on r side...
