Does this mean I have to buy a K-32 masterpiece target?
In LGS this morning, spotted this up on the shelf, and my heart started jumping. I asked to see it, looked it over, payed for it immediately, walked outside, opened the box to find that they somehow got me. There was no revolver in the box. Oh well, I guess I will have to fill it with a replacement or find the owner of the K-32. Would love to help a fellow out. Anyone own K66165 or possibly K66105?

Yes, you must buy one now - like Luke Skywalker, you must meet your destiny .

Well, if only a few thousand of those guns were made, it may not be as hard as one would think to find the owner of that serial #'d gun, or more correctly stated, for him to find you. Maybe an ad on this forum would do it.
Just think about it...what would someone pay to get the original box for their K-32 Masterpiece? Might bring some serious bucks.

The K32 boxes seen to pop up on eBay with some regularity, every few months. As far as I can remember they sell for about the same money as a K22 box and I have one that has a K22 Combat label. Guys who put high minimums on them don't sell. But if I had the numbered revolver to your box, I would pay more...

Michael,
You know you want a K-38 if you don't have one, and if you have one, you know that another will do nothing but increase the value of your present holdings. If you have one already, you may not need another, but you know you want another. And now you have a dandy box for one! Seems like a win/win situation to me!!!

Guy,
If the pistol had been in it, I surely would be able to.

I am surprised at you Marine. It is not a pistol, it is a revolver.

Great, it is my father speaking to me from the grave. Revolvers were all phased out by the time I went through, but you are right. I know better. I will do better in the future.
Semper Fi Larry!

Revolvers are pistols, with a few rare exceptions.

Yup...that's what it means... and it means that you also have to run down a K-38 Masterpiece, and a K-22 Masterpiece, with all the trimmings...

Pistols are the semi-auto type. Revolvers have cylinders. At least that is what I have been taught all my life. Thanks, Big Larry

I think buying a K-32 is the best solution to your box problem. If you do be sure to show it.

K-32 deals are to be had. Mine is boxed and about 95%+ or better and I bought it off this forum for a little over $2,200 shipped. The seller had many calls on it, but I was the first caller. He gave me an hour to check with the credit union to see if I could get the $$$. They happily gave me the funds and I bought the revolver.
Never looked back on that deal. Big Larry

I don't want to scramble your dozen of eggs but I just seen a s&w k32 6" target model with papers for $12k yes $12,000. I could of purchased k32s years back for $600. Ten years ago. That's 1/3 of the cost of my first house.

Why yes... yes it is. And here is the solution guide (at least some of the differences)...
Besides the obvious 1) caliber differences, 2) the K-22 and the K-38 both have the large knob and single-line "Made In USA". 3) All three of them have the narrow rib. 4) The K-32 has a "Micro" aftermarket cock-eyed hammer and the 4-line "Made In USA" frame roll. 5) The K-22 has the internal firing pin retention pin just above the 5th screw, 6) whereas the K-32 and K-38 have hammer mounted firing pins. 7) And the height of the front sight is progressively taller as the caliber increases, with the K-22 having the shortest and the K-38 having the tallest...
There you go...
I also have a "wider rib" 5-screw set that I need to photograph sometime in the future...

As a former Marine, we did not call the small arms guns. Pistols were semi-auto, M1911A1, and revolvers were revolvers. I have carried this info with me since before the Marines as my Dad was a small arms instructor in the Marines and I was taught at an early age. So, I will continue to call them what I was taught to call them. I corrected the Marine as he knows, by his training, what they are called. Thanks for the education. Big Larry
