I have a M&P Target Serial #563579 does anyone have an idea as to shipping date. Thanks

The production date is from the late 1920s but these were not super fast sellers, especially after late 1929, so ship dates are unpredictable. A letter of authenticity would be the only way to be certain.

563579 probably shipped sometime in 1927. I can't pin it down any closer as those on my list having nearby SNs shipped at different times throughout the year. I show none with nearby SNs as shipping in 1928. I'd also guess yours may have been manufactured in 1926. as there are several not too much lower SNs showing as being shipped in 1926.

Yes. 5315xx shipped in February, 1926. So assembly of serial numbers in the 53xxxx range was taking place at least that early.

Also, the fact that the example that is the subject of this thread is a target version can have an effect on when it shipped. Demand wasn't as high, so those often ship later.

My M&P Target, in the mid 561,000 range shipped on 4/6/27. That should get you pretty close. They weren't huge/fast sellers but the Depression hadn't started yet either.
