Flat Bottom magna or Modified "PC" magna?
This Model 10 (no dash), shipped December 29, 1959, came to me with a pair of later vintage "PC" magnas not quite a year and a half ago, and I would like to replace them with the correct style "age appropriate" stocks. The letter I received from Roy Jinks simply states that it shipped with "checkered walnut square butt grips." My limited knowledge and research leads me to think that a fixed-sight Model 10 (no dash), unless otherwise specifically requested, would likely have shipped with modified "PC" magnas, with the diamond center.
So, my question is which should I be on the lookout for, the flat-bottom style or the modified style?

I believe that the PC grips on it are already of the correct style for your Model 10, just post-1969. PC grips (aka Modified Square Butt) have been around since the early 1950s. Except 1959 PC grips would have diamonds around the screw holes. Not something I would lose any sleep over worrying about.

The closet revolver I have to a 1959 Model 10 with original grips is a 1957 K-38 CM.

But the K-series revolvers always had the regular flat-bottom Magnas. Not so the Model 10.

The rule (with plenty of exceptions ) is - fixed sight square butt, PC and adjustable sight, standard Magnas. More than a few 2" model 15s shipped with modified Magnas.

The correct stocks for you gun are the diamond pattern PC magnas.
