TL hammers and triggers are unique.
However, 1917 hammers and triggers are also unique from later N frame parts, but will interchange with TLs and function fine, I've tested them to confirm this. Although, they are different from TLs in that they do not have the chafing bushings of the TLs.
TLs and WW I vintage 1917s (and probably all 1917s up to the Model of 1950 short action) have hammer and trigger mounting pins that are 1.150" ctr. to ctr.
Other pre war model N frames have pins that are 1.240" apart and therefore use different hammers and triggers.
Also, TL and 1917 actions actually have a shorter action than later pre war N frames.
In the Neal and Jinks S&W 1852 – 1945, page 206, section on the .44 HE 2nd Model, it states "the…hammer fly was changed to increase double action throw…".
