Default Registered Magnum Thread

I wondered if there was a thread on the registered magnums that have been recovered? I figured there would be a list somewhere.
I happened upon one recently myself and am waiting for my letter to come back as to details.
I did a search on here and did not find what I was looking for. I'd be more than glad to post all the information on mine and start one. Thanks again

I just purchased REG 3529. I'll be showing up at my door tomorrow.

4" with Marbles Sheard front sight. More details and letter to follow.

Anyone have a way to repair the grip adapter? It has one but has been cut.

Timothy Mullin's book "Magnum The S&W .357 Magnum Phenomenon" includes an Appendix with A Pre-War Magnum Database. It is not all inclusive but rather a list of Pre-War Magnums compiled from inputs from various collectors.

The SWCA Database on this Forum also lists a number of Pre-War Magnums.

Personally I like finding Pre-War Magnums like yours not listed anywhere and not previously known to the collecting community.

That early a gun would likely have shipped with service style grips and grip adapter. Magna style grips (as are on it #755) were not introduced until later. Are the grips numbered? Any stamps on left side of grip frame? Yours likely shipped late 35 or early 36. NICE find!!

Nice find...................... are RM prices continuing to rise, hold steady or are they softening?

Slight Correction... Magna grips were introduced in late 1935. My 3.5" RM (REG 649) shipped in December 1935 and it letters as shipping with magnas (and the magnas number to the gun).

So... it is possible that that long-tube beauty (REG 755) shipped with magnas - the historical letter should provide that information...

Gentlemen,

I maintain the database that formed the basis of the one on this forum and was used by Tim Mullin for his book. If you will post the letters I will get the details added to the database. If you prefer to remain anonymous you may PM or email me. If our IT guy gets the database issues sorted out I will update the forum database.

Regards,
