High Quality Gunsmith Recommendation Needed for Work on a Registered Magnum
I contacted Hamilton Bowen and was told that they no longer work on Smith & Wessons. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith capable of working on a Registered Magnum?
Thanks

I recommend Nelson Ford, operating as The Gunsmith in Phoenix. He knows more about DA Smiths than anyone I'm aware of. He does not do cosmetic work, but tuning, repair, anything mechanical, he's superb.

Yes, a lot depends on the work needed. e.g., simply fixing a mechanical problem vs. performing a full restoration.

Andy Horvath at Diagonal Gun shop in Ohio does great work. It depends on what you need done, as to who else I might suggest.

He's done 5 smiths of mine
Dennis Reichard is my trusted S&W Smith, my model 17 is always buttery smooth and goes Bang, not easy with a rimfire.
Hes at the Sand Burr Gun Ranch.

I have to agree. As a matter of fact, I dropped a RM off with Nelson just today. It needs a few mechanical things tuned up here and there... Then probably off to PQuig for another engraving project that I am envisioning...
