price check on pre mdl 10
I'm sorry no pictures but believe me it's got to be 99%. I was amazed at just like new it was-they have it for $395. It's is a sv8070## serial number so I think 1945-1946. I did notice only the serial# on butt had the sv, the barrel was just a number and cylinder just a number. Also the SV on butt was way over on one edge with numbers on the other, probably half inch space between letters and numbers. I am thinking an older one with original grips this is a good price??? Which it is definately in very fine shape looks almost unfired but no box or anything else made me think twice and I'm not really wanting another 38 but if it's a really really good deal I may just buy it???

An SV series M&P in 99% condition?
i'm a buyer @ $395. I'd offer $350 & try to haggle for cash. But, I'd take it home either way.

Take it. If the finish is blued and the grips are Magna and the lanyard swivel hole in the butt is plugged, it is one of the civilian revolvers made up from wartime parts leftovers in inventory. All of those shipped in the early months of 1946. A picture would be nice after you get it.

In that condition $400 is a good price IMO. I paid that each for two S&W M&P 38 spl revolvers. In the pawn shops around here they would be asking around $600 at least.

Welcome to the forum ,buy the gun if you like it at that price you can probabaly resell later at a small profit. But I must give my usual warning I am notorious for paying too much for guns I like .

Thank you guys!! Yes it has the lanyard hole closed and bright blue finish. Looks just like the js fricks gun pictured in the thread. Same condition as jsfricks. It should still be there after this darn hurricane passes so I will go look at again then. If purchased I will post some pics. It also has the patent info on top of barrel didn't know if they all do?

Those are correct for that serial; that stamping was discontinued a few years later.
