Victory Model please help
I picked this Victory Model today. I think I took all the pertinent pics for identification. Any info that you can share would be greatly appreciated. It locks up tight, timing is spot on, and the bore is very good. Seems to have been carried a lot but not shot very much. I did take the grips off, the serial number on the right grip does not match the pistol. Barrel is 4 inches. Thanks, Joe

It appears to be a standard military-destined US Victory model from spring 1943. It most likely shipped to the Navy. The finish looks all original, all stampings are correct. The gun seems to be in decent shape.

Welcome aboard from Wyoming, Caballero2.
Hmmm. Our screen names share a certain... couple of elements.
Nice Victory. Congrats. I'd like to have one I felt comfortable shooting whenever I wanted.

The closest SN I have listed is V2619xx which shipped in 3/43, and it was a Navy revolver. In fact I list several other Navy Victories with SNs not much further away from yours, all of which also shipped in 3/43. The great majority of the property-stamped Victories chambered in .38 Special went to the Navy, most of which were used to arm flight crews.
