Nice .32 HE arrived today....
Round butt, 3 1/4" barrel, very good condition, both mechanical and finish. All serial numbers match, including the stocks. I just "had" to have a RB to keep company with a Regulation Police. The only problem with the gun is the left stock panel, which has splits around the escutcheon on the inside of the panel. Should I attempt to fill them with some epoxy, or leave them alone??
Overall, I am very happy with this little revolver. I am guessing from the serial number that it was shipped sometime in the mid-1930s. Any assistance to narrow the date down would be much appreciated. I think I gave a fair price for it, $300.

Nice .32 HE. I have one in nickel.
I believe that since it has the mushroom head ejector rod, it would date between mid 1922 and 1927.

That's a real dandy!
I agree with Muley Gil.
Likely 1926-7 based on other serial #s with shipping dates in my database.
Yes, you could fill the cracks with a black epoxy. And just never tighten the screw more than just snug. It sat for years with the screw over tightened.

Thanks for the information. I had no idea the gun was that old. I will get some black epoxy and fill in those cracks. After removing the stocks for inspection, when I put them back on, I was very careful to only snug the screw.

Love me some I-frames... especially in 32 caliber... and with the pre-War flat mainspring. Nice find!

That's a beauty.
As for epoxy, the very best is Brownells Acra-glas & it comes with black and brown dye for just such a repair (MHO). Enough to last for a very long time and has a thousand uses.
