Traded into this guy today at the gun show and its got some interesting things about it that I'd like feedback on.
Serial number is within range of the 3rd change. 2310XX. It looks like it has had some factory work done to it on 7.51. It has a diamond on the heel under the grips and a star at the end of the serial. I looked it over pretty hard and the mechanicals are like new with no play while locked up. The finish I suspect may be a factory refinish, as my 4th change is a different blue. This blue is akin to the late 40's K-38 masterpiece I just got. The stampings look clean and the side plate to frame looks good too. The patent markings on the top are also clear.
It has a couple finish flaws from what I assume is the holster it came with but no rust or pitting. Overall its in great shape and a nice looker after I cleaned it up. The recoil shield, extractor wear and turn line make it appear to be fired very little. The grips, barrel and cylinder all match the butt.
It came with a sweet old holster. I took a few pics of it and may start a thread in the leather and holster forum. I like the lacing and it just screams cool. The gentleman I traded with had a handful of old revolvers that he bought from his friends widow. He was hoping to sell/trade a few.
3rd change targets are kinda scarce and I think thats what pushed me to make the trade. I have about $550 into the holster and revolver so I think I got a fair deal all things considering.
Here are the pics
