5 gun range day
I have not been able to get to the range and check out some of my new acquisitions. All shots were taken at 20 yards.
First up was my ole faithful pre-27 3.5" shooter. Only 3 shots in and the trigger and single action locked up in the home position. I stopped shooting it. I was able to clear it and then action released from being locked up. I haven't opened it up yet to see what the cause may be. I was shooting .38 special rounds through it.
Next up was the 4" commercial M&P 38 special. I was pulling right with 6 SA shots and even more erratic with my 6 DA shots.
The third revolver up was my 4" BSR in 38 S&W. The first 6 shot SA were just right of center and again the second 6 in DA were better placed but still less acurate (mostly right and low).
Fourth up was the K1000 k22. Single action allowed a tighter grouping of 6 shots also right of center. DA was also an improvement with 18 shots fired and still pulling right. I had a couple flyers right and high.
Finally, I pulled out the 44 HE TL. I forgot to change out the samber stags for more forgiving stocks. It was no problem with SA as I had the tightest group of the day, but they were low left. DA on their other hand was a different story. I was shooting low and right 1st 4 shots, l over corrected with 5 and put 6 right where it needed to be. I am very impressed with this beast.
I forgot to take the target M&Ps, so maybe tomorrow I can go again!

Good looking K22. Hope you didn't break a hammer or trigger pivot stud in your old .357. That would be really bad news.

Luckily, neither are broke. However, I have a weird noise of something loose,. As I rotate the revolver nose up to nose down, i can hear something loose moving. I took the side plate off and I can not see anything loose or broken and all action works. The sound stops when engaged in single action.

Sounds like an over-travel stop inside the rebound spring. Also, that it is dry and needs some lube.

What you're hearing is probably the hammer block. It's perfectly normal for it to 'rattle' a little.

Another vote for the hammer block rattling, but it doesn't explain his stoppage. Anyway, good luck with the old .357.

As a Marine, I know you can do better than shown, unless you are an old Marine like me. Turned 75 yesterday.
Thank you for your service to our country, and a big Semper Fi Marine to you. Big Larry USMCR (60-68)
