Default Victory Model sideplate screws?

I see a lot of S&W M&P/Victory Model sideplate screws for sale online. My question is, are the correct sideplate screws for a Victory Model blued, Parkerized/phosphated or something else?

Thanks

Yes.

Early sandblast blue, sandblast mid-night black and finally some were parkerized finish. Hammer and Trigger are case hardened.

Can't speak of the particular screw sets you've seen, but to save yourself time and frustration, it would probably be a good idea to ask the seller(s) if theirs have the finish you're looking for. I've seen listings for parts that have the word 'Victory' in the description, but the photos don't always tell the whole story. There are also some sellers who really don't know the difference in a Victory model and a commercial M&P....

Interesting. Is there any sort of rough timeline relative to when the different screw finishes were phased in or out?

There is a lot of truth in that. "Fits" and "correct" are not the same thing.

Don't over-worry. Any gun with a V-prefix got the same sandblast Black Magic finish, which looks "parkerized" even though it technically isn't. Replacement screws may still not match the finish perfectly depending on the condition and wear of the gun, though.

Previous finishes only apply to Pre-Victory serials from the first half of 1942. Standard blue ended in the upper 800-thousands, then came a period of matte "brush blue", and in the upper 900-thousands a few thousand actually parkerized guns, all DSC with no topstrap stamp.

Perfect. I think all my questions have been answered. I mainly wanted to make sure that brushed blue screws (for example) weren't used on Black Magic finished revolvers.
