Hand Ejector identification for a 32 6” barrel
Yet another Hand Ejector identification for a 32 6” barrel.
The condition is excellent. This is not for sale nor am I seeking resale value.
I don’t want to remove the walnut grips and risk marring the screw.
I picked this up in a trade and I am trying to learn everything about it. I will attach photo soon. This firearm has a square grips with s/n 69xxx. It does not say Police Regulation as it is a 32 caliber.
The site is fixed.

Welcome! If you can tell us what the caliber stamping is from the barrel, and if the serial number quoted is from the bottom of the grip frame that would help. It may be .32 Long or some variation of .32-20 (.32 Winchester, .32 WCF).

.32 Regulation Police models weren't actually stamped 'Regulation Police'. Only the .38 Regulation Police was marked that way on the barrel, even though the .32 and .38 were both called Regulation Police.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! Well if the SN is in fact only 5 digits, it can't be a Regulation Police because the SN is much too low. So, if it has extension grips (round to square conversion), it is probably a Model 1903, 2nd Change from around 1907-8. Of course it could be a .32-20 (.32 WCF, .32 Winchester) but that would be clearly stamped on the barrel.

Welcome to the forum.
Did that # come from the front grip strap behind the trigger guard?

Welcome to the Forum. In reference to Jim's question, if there is no serial number stamped on the front part of the butt-frame, those stocks are probably not original to the gun. I am assuming that the stocks are the extension type that covers the butt-frame? The screw holding the stocks in place is almost always very easy to remove. If there is no sn in that location, it will be on the bottom of the butt-frame, Taking a magnifying glass, you can also find the official serial number on the rear of the cylinder. According to references, the earliest serial number for a 32 Regulation Police is around 263,000. These guns were numbered in the same serial number range as standard 32 HEs.
