Default .32 Hand Ejector stock heresy !!

But I like it !! I picked up this .32 HE (248878 ...5th change 1910-17) and handmade holster a few years ago in a gun show trade and cash that made the .32 almost free. It does have two ugly areas where I think it had an owner's name or ID numbers removed. So it's a gun for fun. I really like the look and feel of these wildly incorrect stocks. Who else has put "wildly incorrect" stocks on their vintage Smith's ...and will admit it ...with pics.

This is just MMO, but I would've put more age appropriate handles on that revolver and used those stocks on a more age appropriate gun. This is just my miserable opinion! It's your revolver and your stocks and if you like the mating, who are we? I will never have to "admit" doing this but when you ask for admissions, you must think it inappropriate/unappealing too. Separately, the revolver is a nice one and so are the handles. Congrats. Please don't think this "opinion" mean spirited. I envy you both items!

Great pick up, especially for virtually free.

It's not uncommon to replace stocks on the these little shooter condition 32s. All custom later J frame aftermarket stocks that cover the butt work well on pre war I frames.

Brownells OxPho Blue applied in several coats after heating the metal will due a much better bluing touch up on the two areas.

I have a very similar stock on one of my .38 DA top breaks. It may look funny, but it is vastly better than the originals for shooting purposes. I see absolutely nothing wrong about using what you have.

This gun doesn't belong in this section but the stocks sure do. I didn't put these stocks on the gun but bought it the way you see it.

This is my pictures when I received the gun.

Someone stuck those N frame "Coke" targets on a Model 681 and didn't modify them. I was glad they did. Got the gun for cheap, stocks for free.

I have a pair of zebrawood J frame grips that are very similar to the ones shown. I once had them on a .32 HE. Don't have pictures or the .32.

Those strange grips converted this .38 DA into a revolver that shoots almost as well as my K-38 at 50'.

These old HEs are great shooters! Put whatever grips on that enhance your accuracy and have fun with them!

I recently used some Birchwood Casey perma blue to touch up a gouge in my cylinder. As one poster said use some heat and I think you could get those 2 spots to be almost invisible. You have nothing to lose as you can see those spots from a mile away where they removed name. At least do a search on YouTube and see a few videos. I was so impressed with videos on there I decided to give it a go, and it worked!

I would try this as well. Should make the gun look tons better, and wouldn't doubt if those areas were barely noticeable after.

Is that gun safe with Buffalo Bore's hot .32 Long ammo? That'd make it more effective if you ever need to use it in earnest.

I think this one is pre-heat treatment....nothing but mild stuff for this old girl.

Yeah, it pre dates the heat treating since made before 1920.

But standard off the shelf 32 long is the same pressure as in the teens.

I used some Oxpho ...wow....what an improvement. Now I'm looking at the other guns I have that would benefit. Next up is a slightly ugly Makarov.
