I have a new to me pre 27 3.5", the front sight, rear blade, and rear assembly right corners are damaged, no the best sight picture. What sizes are the front and rear origins for this gun, the rear blade is serrated not common and the front sight has the 2 pins. Also where can I get a completed set.
Thanks Jim
Good luck especially when looking for the front sight. If just the rear sight blade is damaged, replacement kits are available from Midway right now. If the rear has damage in other areas, you'll need to search used parts sellers, eBay and website classifieds for the correct replacements. Running a "want to buy" ad in the classifieds here in the appropriate sub forum can't hurt either.
If you post a pic or two showing the damage, maybe someone can recommend the best remedy. As mentioned, the front sight isn't going to be easy to find. Could be something a good gunsmith could repair - rather than replace. Not sure how hard it might be to find a replacement rear blade either. Seems I recall someone saying the thread for the windage screw had changed from what was used in the 50's....
PM sent on the rear sight - an easy fix. The front sight not so easy. I agree that photos would help us help you. Also, just a note, the pre... model number guns almost always had rear sights with a flat head windage screw. On later rear sights, the windage screw was domed...
